Privacy Policy

Runabout Digital built Konsol as a commercial application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Konsol.

Information We Collect

We do not collect personal data. Konsol is designed to keep your data on your device. Specifically:

• Connection profiles (hostnames, IP addresses, usernames) are stored locally on your device and optionally synced via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store, which is encrypted and managed by Apple.
• Passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's hardware-encrypted credential storage. We never transmit passwords to any server.
• SSH keys are generated on-device and stored in the iOS Keychain. Private keys never leave your device.
• Session recordings and logs are stored locally on your device.
• Device configurations pulled via Config Backup are stored locally on your device.

Network Connections

Konsol connects directly to devices you specify (via SSH, Telnet, serial, or SFTP). These connections are made directly from your device to the target device — no data passes through our servers.

The only external connections Konsol makes are:

• Speed Test: Downloads test data from Cloudflare's public speed test servers (speed.cloudflare.com) when you manually run a speed test.
• App Store: Subscription verification via Apple's StoreKit framework.
• iCloud Sync: If enabled, profile data (not passwords) syncs via Apple's iCloud infrastructure.

Analytics and Tracking

We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. No usage data, crash reports, or behavioral data is collected or transmitted. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or any similar service.

Third-Party Services

Konsol uses the following Apple services:

• Apple StoreKit: For subscription management. Apple handles all payment processing.
• Apple iCloud: For optional profile sync. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
• Apple Keychain: For secure credential storage.
• Apple Push Notifications: For uptime monitoring alerts (if enabled).

Data Security

We take security seriously:

• All passwords and SSH keys are stored in the iOS Keychain with hardware encryption.
• SSH connections use industry-standard encryption (AES, ChaCha20, etc.).
• No data is stored on our servers — we don't have servers.
• Optional Face ID/Touch ID protection for app access.

Children's Privacy

Konsol is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you control retention. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. iCloud-synced data can be managed through iOS Settings.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to request, modify, or delete on our end. All your data is on your device under your control.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
